מלגת מחקר: ציבורים בעולם בעלי זיקה לעם היהודי

מרכז חקר נדחי ישראל (מחנ”י) במכון בן־צבי לחקר קהילות ישראל מכריזים על הענקת עד 10 מלגות בסך של 40,000 ש”ח כל אחת, לחוקרים שיקדישו מזמנם למחקר מיפוי של קהילות בעלות זיקה לעם היהודי, במדינה אחת (או בחלק ממנה באם מדובר במדינה גדולה ומרובת קהילות), במטרה לחבר מסמך או מאמר, המפרט ומסכם את הנתונים ואת המסקנות שעלו במחקר. 

מחקר המיפוי יהיה מקיף, ויכלול פירוט של קבוצות וקהילות (באם קיימות) בעלות זיקה במדינה הנחקרת, על פי חלוקה גיאוגרפית ליישובים, ובמידת הצורך בתוך יישובים. המחקר יביא באמצעות שילוב של ביקורי שטח, שיח עם בני קבוצות אלה ומידע מחקרי ככל שקיים, נתונים כמותיים ואיכותניים שיאספו
על ידי החוקר בנוגע לקבוצות, למאפייניהן ולאופי הפעילות הקהילתית שלהן (אם קיימת). כן תובא סקירת ספרות מחקרית הנוגעת לאותה הקבוצה, ככל שהיא קיימת.
המחקר יושלם בתוך שנה ממועד קבלת הודעה על בחירה בהצעת המועמד. במקרים מיוחדים תאושר הארכה אחת, של לכל היותר שישה חודשים נוספים, עד השלמת המחקר.
תנאים להגשת מועמדות לקבלת המלגה:
על מגישי המועמדות להיות בעלי תואר שני ומעלה, ממוסד להשכלה גבוהה בישראל או בעולם, המוכר בדין באחד התחומים הבאים: היסטוריה, אנתרופולוגיה, סוציולוגיה מדעי הדתות ו/או תחומים משיקים.

הגשה עד 17.9.25, כ”ד באלול תשפ”ה.

הוועדה תבחן את הצעות המחקר ותפרסם את רשימת מקבלי המלגות ביום 2.11.25, י”א בחשוון תשפ”ו. חלוקת המלגות תיערך בטקס חגיגי שיתקיים ביד יצחק בן־צבי בירושלים.

The Center for Study of the Dispersed of Israel (below: the Center) within the Ben-Zvi Institute for the Study of Jewish Communities in the East will grant in 2025 up to 10 scholarships of up to 40,000 NIS each, to researchers, who will devote time to a study that will map the groups and communities with affinity to the Jewish people in one country (or in part of it, if it is a large country with many such groups), with the intention to publish an article or a research document, detailing the findings and conclusions of their study.

Each study will be comprehensive and will include a detailed description of groups and communities (if the latter exist) with affinities to the Jewish people, in the country chosen for research, detailing the geographical distribution in various towns and cities (and if necessary, within a city). The research will gather quantitative and qualitative data about the groups, their characteristics and their communal activities (if such exist), by a combination of field visits, conversations with members of these groups and extant secondary literature.

The study will be completed within a year from the time of approval of the research proposal by the Center. In special cases one extension period of up to six months, may be granted, for completion of the research. 

The applicant must have an M.A. or higher degree from a recognized institution of higher learning in Israel or abroad, in one of the following areas: history, anthropology, sociology, comparative religion, and/or related areas of study.

The list of scholarship recipients will be published on November 2, 2025.
